Tercer asalto de REDSKA, presentando su nuevo álbum “LA RIVOLTA” (“The Riot”), publicado en 2012 por Redstar73 Records.
RedSka han dedicado una gran parte de su décimo año de carrera (2011) para grabar un disco cuyo sonido nació en la carretera durante los 4 años de gira que siguió al lanzamiento del anterior CD “Le mie Prigioni” (“Mis prisiones”).
El nuevo álbum incluye toda su gama de registros musicales, mezclándolas con las experiencias recogidas durante sus tours por Europa.
Sus letras están inspiradas en acontecimientos recientes y se caracterizan por el compromiso social y político. Redska se mantienen firmes y comprometidos contra el fascismo, el racismo, el sexismo, el capitalismo y el sistema que está destruyendo nuestro planeta, en contra de un aparato religioso (en su mayoría católico) y los parásitos de la la sociedad italiana.
Las palabras del Subcomandante Marcos introducen el primer tema “Los sonidos de la revolución”, una instrumental que proporciona una visión general del sonido y la potencia que se puede encontrar en este CD: una mezcla perfecta entre punk, reggae, ska y raggamuffin.
“La Rivolta” es un trabajo con distintas facetas, tanto a nivel letrístico como musical. Pero todas estas facetas comparten un fuerte sentido de la lucha y unas mensaje mordaz.
El álbum habla sobre la lucha contra la xenofobia, el racismo (“Legato dalla Lega”) y la homofobia (“Quello che sei”), acerca de las muertes violentas en manos del estado (“Bastardi senza gloria”, dedicado a Stefano Cucchi) y sobre la pedofilia en la Iglesia Católica (con la granítica “Carta a una Santita sua”).
RedSka no se quedan aquí y van más allá. La canción “La Rivolta”, trata sobre la lucha por los derechos negados de los que llegan a Europa en busca de un futuro mejor y están arriesgando sus vidas por ella.
“La Rivolta” es un álbum rico en colaboraciones, como ya es tradición en los álbumes de RedSka. En este disco participan, por ejemplo, Valerio, el cantante The Offenders, la banda italo-alemana de 2Tone, en el tema “Rudeboys Hooligan”, un himno apropiado dedicado a los anti-racistas y anti-fascistas y contra el fútbol moderno.
“Studente rivoluzionario precario”, es un ska-swing dedicado a las protestas estudiantiles violentamente reprimidas por la policía. La canción se enriquece con la voz de Kino, el líder de ARPIONI.
La única versión del disco es un tributo a The Clash y ha sido interpretada por Micky, la cantante de No Relax.
La lista de colaboraciones termina con RUDE HI-FI, dj y cantante de La Máquina, en “Eroi”, canción dedicada a Vittorio Arrigoni y los voluntarios en emergencias y Amnistía Internacional.
El nuevo álbum se cierra con un experimento sonoro. En “Natura” RedSka se ponen a prueba con una mezcla entre reggae-dub-drum & bass en un grito real y desesperado por un planeta que está al borde de un desastre ambiental.
El disco se cierra con “Vivo”, un tema de su primer disco, reinterpetado a ritmo de rocksteady y rebautizado como”Vivo-steady” para la ocasión, como un homenaje a los oonce años de vida de la banda , fundada en 2001.
“LA RIVOLTA” es un álbum de los que ya no se hacen. Nacido y creado en la carretera, donde el RedSka expresa todo su potencial y sus habilidades musicales y sus compromisos políticos y sociales.

Third act for the REDSKA, presenting their new album “LA RIVOLTA” (“The Riot”), released in 2012 by RedStar73 Records.
RedSka have devoted a large part of their 10th year (2011) to record an album whose sound was born on the road during the 4 years of touring that followed the release of the previous CD “Le mie prigioni” (“My prisons”).
The new album includes the whole range of suggestions, influences ad experiences collected during their wanderings around Europe.
The lyrics, inspired by the events of these years, are characterized by social and political commitments, with strong stands against fascism, racism, sexism, capitalism and the system which is destroying our planet, against a religious apparatus (mostly catholic) parasitic on the Italian society.
Subcomandante Marcos’ words introduce the first track “Sounds of Revolution”, the opening instrumental piece that provides an overview of the sound and power you will find in the CD: a perfect fit of punk, reggae, ska and raggamuffin reaches and carries away the listener into the album.
Overall, “La Rivolta” comes across as a varied work both in the lyrics and the songs, but all share a strong sense of struggle and contrast and razor-sharp sentences.
The album narrates of the struggles against xenophobia, racism (“Legato dalla lega”) and homophobia (“Quello che sei”), about the violent deaths by the hand of the state (“Bastardi senza gloria”, dedicated to Stefano Cucchi) and about pedophilia in the Catholic Church (with the granitic “Lettera a sua santità”).
The RedSka don’t stop at that and continue with the title track “La Rivolta”, dealing with the struggles for the denied rights of those who arrive in Europe looking for a better future and are risking their lives for it.
“La Rivolta” is also an album rich in collaborations, as is the tradition of RedSka records.
The first one is the featuring of Valerio, lead singer of The OFFENDERS, italo-german 2-tone ska band, in “Hooligan Rudeboys”, a proper anthem dedicated to anti-racist and anti-fascist supporters and against modern football.
In the ska-swing of “Studente precario rivoluzionario” dedicated to student protests violently repressed by the police, the song is enriched by the voice of Kino, leader of ARPIONI, historic Italian ska-band.
The sole cover in the album, honouring the great band of THE CLASH, has been entirely sung by the powerful voice of Micky, singer of NO RELAX.
The list ends with RUDE HI-FI, dj and singer of LA MAQUINA featuring in “Eroi”, song dedicated to Vittorio Arrigoni and the volunteers of Emergency and Amnesty International.
The new album closes with a sound experimentation: in “Natura” the RedSka put themselves to the test of a reggae-dub-drum&bass experiment, a real cry of warning and hope for a planet on the verge of environmental disaster.
For the last track, the RedSka dust off “Vivo”, a song from the first album, rearranged in a rock-steady style and renamed “Vivo-steady” for the occasion, as a tribute to the eleven-year life of the band, founded in 2001.
“LA RIVOLTA” is a “true” album, born on the road, where the RedSka express their full potential and their musical, communicative, politic and social commitments.
