Desde los primeros 80, Paul Newman ha liderado el auténtico sonido R&B tocando en
bandas como Jukes, The Clique, The Fyxed, Voodoo Boiler y The Knave. Además, desde
hace años viene poniendo sus discos en diversos clubes de R&B junto a gente como
Paul Hallam, Toski, Big Bob, Thierry Steuve, Gav Evans o Vic Ranger, entre muchos
otros. Actualmente organiza un club mensual de Rythm & Soul en Perpignan.
No esperéis escucharle pinchar los discos que estén últimamente más de moda y en
demanda, probablemente no los tenga… esperad escuchar temazos y rarezas, simplemente
su propia marca de R&B!

Empecé a comprar discos a mediados de los 80, época en la que entré en contacto con
la escena mod de aquel entonces. En ningun caso me considero un coleccionista, si
no más bien un acumulador compulsivo de vinilos y más vinilos…
Mis gustos músicales van desde casi toda la musica afroamericana de los 50 hasta
nuestros días (jazz, r&b, soul, latin, modern, funk,ska y reggae, disco, etc) al
garage, el punk, el surf o el rockabilly.
Ocasionalmente pìncho allá donde me dejan y cuando no me dejan lo hago en mi casa,
que es el mejor garito que conozco.
También soy co-organizador del Funtastic Drácula Carnival, el festival de
r’n’r-garage-punk más divertido del planeta.

Pinchando vinilo desde 1992 en diversos clubs en Barcelona como Jeremy, Buddy’s,
Rulot y en numerosos eventos en la escena R&R.
He compartido platos con los mejores DJs internacionales en Inglaterra: cuatro veces
en el “Rhythm Riot” (2001, 2003, 2005, 2008), el mejor weekend R&B en Europe; aparte
en Montpellier, Perpignan, y una vez al año en los últimos cuatro en Milan en el
club Rollin’ & Tumblin’.

Since the early 80s Paul Newman has championed the authentic R&B sounds
through playing in such London bands as Jukes, The Clique and then on to The
Fyxed , Voodoo Boiler, and Knave. Whilst playing in bands he has djed in R&B
clubs alongside Paul Hallam, Toski, Big Bob,Thierry Steuve, Gav Evans & Vic
Ranger and countless others throughout the years.
He currently runs a monthly Rythm & Soul night in Perpignan, as well as blowin’
Sonny Boy tunes on harp in local bars.
Dont expect to hear the latest in demand scene dance floor fillers, he probably
hasn’t got them..expect to hear big hits and rarities, because hes gonna put
his own brand of R&B on you!

I began buying records in the mid 80’s, when I got in contact with the mod scene.
At any rate, I don’t consider myself a “collector”, but rather a vinyl (and more
vinyl ) “compulsive storage cell”….
My musical preferences go from all kinds of afro-american music from the 50’s until
today (jazz, r&b, soul, latin, modern, funk,ska y reggae, disco, etc) to garage,
punk, surf o rockabilly.
I occasionally DJ wherever I’m allowed, but if nobody lets me spin I DJ at home,
the best night club I know.
I also co-organize the Funtastic Dracula Carnival, the best r’n’r-garage-punk
festival on earth.

A record collector of 40s and 50s R&B, Rock-a-billy and late fifties Rock’n’Roll.
Spinnin’ the wax since 1992 in several clubs in Barcelona like Jeremy, Buddy’s,
Rulot and tons of R&R gigs and parties downtown.
I’ve shared the decks with the best international DJs in England: four times at the
“Rhythm Riot” (2001, 2003, 2005, 2008), the best R&B weekender in Europe; and abroad
in Montpellier, Perpignan, private parties, flyin’ high and once a year for the last
four years in Milan at the Rollin’ & Tumblin’.
My home is the Delta…
