"NOW!", EL NOU DISC DE THE PEPPER POTS JA ESTÀ A LA VENDA

Aquest divendres dia 29 de maig presentaran el nou disc a la sala sinfònica de l'Auditori de Girona. 

Ja està a la venda el nou disc de The Pepper Pots. Un treball on mostren la seva faceta més Soul, produït
per el novayorquès Binky Griptite (Dap-Kings, Sharon Jones, Amy Winehouse…) i gravat a mig camí entre
Catalunya i Nova York.
Aquest mateix divendres dia 29 de maig a partir de les 21h del vespre (màxima puntualitat) per primera
vegada a nivell nacional, The Pepper Pots presentarà el seu nou disc "NOW!". El concert tindrà lloc a la
sala sinfònica de l'Auditori-Palau de Congressos de Girona. El públic gironí gaudirà en primicia d'un
concert molt especial, ja que la banda comptarà  amb l'acompanyament d'un quartet de corda.

La presentació oficial a Barcelona serà el dissabte 6 de juny a la Sala Apolo. Un acte que comptarà amb
la presència del mateix productor del disc Binky Griptite.

THE PEPPER POTS INICIA UNA GIRA D’UNA DESENA DE CONCERTS ALS ESTATS UNITS

Un dels primers concerts serà al South by Southwest Festival d’Austin (Texas)

Girona, març 2009.- Després de la recent sortida del 2on disc “Shake It!” (2007) al mercat dels Estats Units per la discogràfica Megalith Records (The Toasters, NYSJE, Westbound Train…) , la banda gironina The Pepper Pots presenta per primera vegada al públic americà els temes del seu darrer treball. Un dels primers concerts d’aquesta gira tindrà lloc a Austin (Texas), en el marc d’un dels festivals més destacats del moment: South by Southwest, i continuarà amb 9 concerts més per la costa oest del país, a diverses sales de les principals ciutats com San Francisco, San Diego o Los Angeles.

Actualment The Pepper Pots, es troben en plena gravació del seu nou àlbum “NOW!”, juntament amb el productor novaiorquès Binky Griptite (Sharon Jones, Amy Winhouse). L’àlbum serà gravat entre els estudis Musiclan (Catalunya) i Dubway Studios (Manhattan), mesclat analògicament a Brooklyn i finalment masteritzat als estudis Trutone Mastering Labs de Nova York.

En aquests últims anys, la banda catalana, ha dedicat tots els seus esforços a tocar per sales i festivals de tot Europa i fins hi tot al Japó, on l’any passat va estar presentant el disc “Shake It!” a les principals ciutats del país nipó com Tokyo o Osaka.

36 años, originario de Lyon (FR). Cofundador del VaVaVoom Soul Club junto a mi buen amigo Ady Lupton. Rescubrí la música Northern Soul, el R&B, el Latin, el Ska, el Jazz, el Acid Jazz & el Funk desde la escena mod de los últimos 80’s. A mediados de los 90’s me fui a vivir a Londres y comencé a coleccionar Rare Soul. He asistido a algunas de las mejores Soul Nights, All-nighters & Soul Weekenders en UK (100 Club, Cleethorpes, Capitol Soul Club, Life Line, Prestatyn, Ritz…). Llevo coleccionando (Great Oldies, Newies, Instrumentals, Unknowns & Classics, principalmente 60’s & algo 70’s) durante bastante tiempo pero intent conservar el mismo entusiasmo por la MUSICA SOUL DE CALIDAD.

Durante toda mi vida he tenido una casi enfermiza pasión por la música. Comencé a comprar discos a la edad de 6 años y desde entonces he estado explorando mis horizontes musicales. Durante mi adolescencia ya me gustaba la música Soul, pero no fue hasta 1997 cuando a la edad de 16 años una colega se compró accidentalmente una compi de Northern Soul, y esto fue lo que realmente me enganchó a los sonidos uptempo del Soul de los 60s y 70s. Sonaba tan gritón y rudo como el garaje americano de los 60s que escuchaba, así que la conexión fue inmediata.

Empecé a colección 45s de Soul, R&B y Funk en
1999 y desde entonces he pinchado y organizado fiestas en mi ciudad, Malmoe (Suecia). Durante los últimos 2 años he organizado con bastante éxito el CLUB FUNCTION junto a mis amigos Helena, Jonte y Joppe. Nuestra política musical es una mezcla ecléctica de Northern Soul, Funk, Modern Soul, Underground Disco y Boogie.

Ricard Prieto (Barcelona, 1966) es un insobornable fan de la música afroamericana. Tras años y años de disfrutar numerosas sesiones de música Soul, Jazz y Funk en sus más variadas vertientes, un día decidió traer algunos discos de casa y ponerse a pincharlos delante de sus amigos. Desde inicios de los 90 hasta hoy, Ricard ha participado como DJ en los principales Soul weekenders por toda la península: Soul4Real (Bilbao), Black Apocalypse (Asturias), Floorshaker (Barcelona), Say It Loud (Santiago), etc. Por otra parte, fue co-editor del añorado fanzine “Soul Time”, además de colaborador ocasional en programas de radio y prensa musical. Para esta edición en Movin’On, su selección abrazará como siempre un amplio espectro, desde estricto 70s & 80s Soul, underground Disco, o NY soulful House..

I’ve been collecting (Great Oldies, Newies, Instrumentals, Unknowns & Classics mainly from the 60’s & a touch of 70’s) for few years now & try to keep the same enthusiasm that drives me into the scene: QUALITY SOUL MUSIC.

During my entire life I’ve had an almost unhealthy passion for music. I started buying records at the age of 6 and since then I have consistently been deepening and broadening my musical horizons. During my formative teens I always liked soul music, but it wasn’t until 1997 at the age of 16 when a friend of mine pretty much by accident got ahold of a “northern soul” compilation CD, that I seriously caught the bug for obscure old 60s and 70s uptempo soul. It sounded just as gritty and unpolished as the american 60s garage rock
that I loved so I felt an immediate connection.

I started to seriously collect soul, rhythm & blues and funk 45s in
1999 and since then I have been DJing and organizing club events here in my hometown of Malmoe, Sweden. During the past 2 years I’ve run the successful CLUB FUNCTION together with my friends Helena, Jonte and Joppe. Our music policy is an eclectic mix of pounding, uptempo northern soul, funk, modern soul, underground disco and boogie.

RICARD PRIETO (Barcelona)

Ricard Prieto (Barcelona 1966) is an incorruptible afroamericam music fan. After years and years enjoying lots of Soul, Jazz and Funk sessions in a variety of styles, one day he decided to bring some records from home and play a set in front of his friends. Since the early 90s, Ricard take part as DJ in the main Soul weekenders all over the country, Soul4Real (Bilbao), Black Apocalypse (Gijon, Asturias), Floorshaker (Barcelona) or Say It Loud (Santiago), etc. In other respects, he was too co-editor of the remembered fanzine “Soul Time”, as well occassional contributor to music mags and radio performings. In this Movin’On, his selection will reach as usual a wide spectrum, from straight 70s & 80s Soul to underground Disco or NY Soulful house.
