What?! LKJ on Roots Rock Rebel!

Roots Rock Rebel
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
CKUT, 90.3FM, Montreal!

Hello listeners,

To round out our special programming for Black History Month on CKUT,
Roots Rock Rebel brings you a special treat!

We dug deep into our vaults to bring you an amazing, candid, and raw
interview with the one and only dub poet and reggae lengend Linton Kwesi
Johnson. LKJ was born in Chapelton, Jamaica, and moved to England at a
young age. In this interview, he speaks a lot about the racism he faced
growing up, fascism in the UK, and his involvement with the British Black
Panther Movement - and of course how all of this effected his art.

This interview was recorded in 1998 by Dread Scott Keys from the program
Midnight Ravers (www.midnightravers.org) on our sister station WBAI in New
York. Respect!

Yes my friends, Inglan is a bitch.

Stay rude, stay rebel,
RRR crew
