KRISTINE KVAMME (Norway)
Hola! I’m Kristine from Oslo, Norway. For the last 7 years I’ve been one of the resident DJ’s at Klubb Magnus, Oslo’s longest running rhythm and soul club. I’m also co-hosting Miss Millie’s – a monthly 60s night in Oslo. I’ve been DJ-ing in the UK and in Norway for the last 10 years, and can be found behind the decks in one of Oslo’s many bars or clubs most weekends. I’m really excited about playing The Boiler, my favorite club in Europe! You can expect to hear a mix of R&B and both sweet and gritty soul. Basically tunes that I like to dance to at the moment!

Banni Price – You Love Me Pretty Baby
Lillian Briggs – Come Here
The 5 Royals – Catch That Teardrop
Debra Johnson – My Baby For You
Aaron Neville – A Hard Nut To Crack
Jimmy McCracklin – The Drag
Mary Johnson – These Tears
Bobby Powell – I’m Gonna Leave You
Little Penny – In My Dreams
Betty Lavette – I Feel Good (All Over)

SIMON SONGHURST (Norway/UK)
Hi all, I’ve been collecting R&B records since the early 80s, and started DJing in England in the late 90s at soul nights and mod clubs. For the last 8 years I’ve been living in Norway, where with Kristine and Simen Brekke, we’ve put on the monthly nights Klubb Magnus for 7 years and Miss Millie’s for 6 years. I’m also a resident DJ at Oslo’s Sugar Shack Soul Club, a monthly club playing 60s northern soul. I been to The Boiler Club a few times and I am really looking forward to coming back again, this time with a box of tunes to get your feet on the dance floor. See ya’ all soon.

Ricky Charles – Hi Ho Silver
Chessmen – Bird Train
Jimmy Tate – Get Some Dues
Pauline Shivers – Better Tell Him No
Warren Lee – Star Revue
Johnny Young – Polly Wolly
Sonny Oliver – Kee-mo-sabee
Jimmy Phillips – She Belongs To Me
The Danderliers – Little Man
Gilbert Lee – Big City Lights

MARINA Q (Barcelona)
Hi all! I am Marina from Barcelona, and it’s a huge pleasure to write these lines for the next edition of The Boiler Club. As great programmers and even better friends, Cristina and Jordi turned this bimonthly gathering into one of my favourite places in this planet, so you can figure out how excited I feel about sharing my favourite records in family and with the most devoted dance floor. I’m a lover of many black music types, from Jamaican to Rhythm’n’Blues through Soul. My sets are mainly focused on rocksteady and early reggae, circa 1968-69, and I’m particularly affectionate to vocal uptempos and sweet melodies. I also enjoy instrumental counterpoints in which Hammond and percussion are the rule, so there will be a little bit of everything. I have been lucky enough to spin some records in allnighters and weekenders since 2001: Double Barrel, Sweet Scorching Happening, BCN Dancecrashers or Boss Sounds Weekend my own town, Barcelona. Groove
Attack in Lleida, Bluebeat Showcase in Rubí, Runaway Weekender and Upsetter in Granada, Boss Sounds to Beat the Ground in Segovia, Reggae Moonstompers in Köln (Germany) and Treasure Sounds in Hamburg (Germany), as well as other happenings in Madrid or A Corunha. These are some of the regular spinners that fill my case, but it’s rather impossible to sort them in order of importance. I hope to see you all in May 10th at The Boiler and spend another shaky and messy night together!

The Slickers – Run Fattie
The Maytones – Loving Reggae
The Inspirations – You know what I mean
The Rudies – Brixton Rocket
Delano Stewart – Rocking Sensation
The Versatiles – Lu-lu-belle
George Dekker & Bunny Lee – Run them
Eric Monty Morris – Say what you say
Peter Touch & The Wailers – Treat me good
The Corporation – Sweet Musille

RESIDENT DJs: Jordi Duro & Cristina Alonso
