The Upsessions – Shake It! Interview

Redstar73 Blog: Please can you introduce your band. When was it started? What about your name?
Boss: We are the Upsessions since 2006. We try to bring the old skool reggae sound to the people.
We released 4 albums, the last one in 2014, and the next one will be next year, in 2016.
Since 2006 we’re touring Europe, from England to Serbia, and from Kopenhagen to Granada…and even Brazil, and we played loads of festivals in Holland.
The name ‘the Upsessions’ was inspired by the Upsetters.

Redstar73 Blog: How was working with Lee Perry for your last album?
Boss: That was great. It was a dream coming true and I think we used him in the right way. His spoken word on our album makes the album magic to me.

Redstar73 Blog: Whats up next for the Upsessions?
Boss: Next year we celebrate our 10th aniversary. We will bring out an EP in the beginning of the year, then do some tours, and we will bring out a new Upsessions album at the end of the year.

Redstar73 Blog: And the highlights of the the Upsessions story so far?
Boss: wow, that’s a lot. We’re very thankfull for a lot of highlights; having a fanbase all over the world, playing Sao Paulo in Brazil, playing Lowlands in Holland and the countless tours throughout Europe were amazing…..and recording an album with Lee Perry on it.

Redstar73 Blog: Last words
Boss: Thanks for having us for this interview, let’s hope the good music will never die
